A year ago Liam Hemsworth was known more for his love life than his acting career— that’s what happens when you’re Mr. Miley Cyrus. Then along came The Hunger Games, in which Hemsworth plays Katniss’s tortured love interest, Gale, and everything changed. Glamour spoke to the 22-year-old Australian, who costars in next month’s action romp The Expendables 2. Glamour‘s August issue is now available on newsstands nationwide.

GLAMOUR: So maybe this is a silly question, but…Team Gale or Team Peeta?

LIAM HEMSWORTH: I relate to Gale more. I feel like my decisions would’ve been similar to his decisions in those situations. I’d be trying to figure out a way to stop [the Games] or fight back.

GLAMOUR: Is your fiancée, Miley, Team Peeta or Team Gale? She has to be Team Gale, right?

LH: She says she’s Team Katniss.

GLAMOUR: Very clever. When fans approach you two, do they usually want pictures with you or her?

LH: If it’s a really young person, it’s usually for her. But people do like to take photos of us together because of The Last Song [the movie they costarred in].

GLAMOUR: Chris Hemsworth [Thor, The Avengers] is your older brother. Do you feel competitive about who’s better looking?

LH: [Laughs.] Well, when I started high school, I remember all the older girls coming up to me and saying how in love they were with Chris.

GLAMOUR: Did you and your brother ever have a crush on the same girl?

LH: As the younger brother, I think you always have crushes on your older brother’s girlfriends.
