Ahhhh, awards season is officially upon us and Hollywood was out full force at the 2012 Golden Globes last night in Beverly Hills. The awards have been given out, but it’s time to pick the ‘real’ winners from the evening. See which stars kicked up their glitz game, chose to keep it simple or sultry and we can’t forget about those hot messes of the evening. Soooo…without further ado, these were our top picks in no particular order:

BEST DRESSED

Showing off her post-baby figure, Jessica Alba looked flawless in this beaded lavender Gucci gown.

Mila Kunis is the new spokesmodel for Christian Dior, so it’s no shocker she wore Dior.

Kate Beckinsale wore a beaded Roberto Cavalli gown. Totally loved the dramatic bustline.

Paula Patton popped on the red carpet in a bright yellow Monique Lhuillier gown. The dress complimented her skin beautifully.

Selma Hayek was a glittering goddess in her black-and-gold Gucci gown, accessorized with a satin box clutch and oversized gold earrings.

The only couple who made it to our best dressed list – Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.  Angelina opted for a gown by Atelier Versace with a gorgeous pop of bright red at the neckline and bright red lips to match and Brad wore a Ferragamo suit.

Known for her bodacious curves, Sofia Vergara showed off her figure in a textured mermaid gown by Vera Wang.

Nicole Richie was super sparkly as she wore a silver gown by Julien Macdonald and accessorized with layered bracelets and a high ponytail.

C’mon, do we really need an explanation?

HOT MESS

Michelle Williams looked like she wore her grandmother’s curtains in this Jason Wu dress. This was a complete bore.

Sarah Michelle Gellar mentioned her 2 year-old daughter picked out this Monique Lhuillier dress. Sarah, don’t ever make that mistake again. Ever.

Mary J. Blige in a custom-made Michael Kors dress. The only question I have – how many Muppets died to make this dress?

We adore New Girl star Zooey Deschanel, but wasn’t feeling this custom-made Prada gown.

I’m not sure which is more disappointing – that Amanda Peet wore this dress or the fact Marc Jacobs designed it?

Madonna, WTF? This is by far the fugliest Reem Acra dress we ever saw.
