Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week S/S 2012: Emerson

The NYLA Reportimages Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

Emerson’s designer Jackie Fraser-Swan brilliantly and understatedly brought to light the relationship between rock and romance. The collection was rich in grey, black, cream, and blue hues, along with different prints that emulated tie-dye, paint splatter and spider webs.

The NYLA Report

To dramatize the contrast between romanticism and the “I don’t care” attitude, Fraser-Swan created ensembles that used opposite fabrics like leather and chiffon.

Highlights of the line included cute grey/blue leather shorts paired with a patterned chiffon tank, an asymmetrical ivory and lilac paint-splattered dress, and a black silk button down crop-top with a high waisted a-line spider-web printed skirt.

The whole collection gave off a sort of rocker girl gone classy vibe, like homage to the 1990s grunge era…only prettier!
