Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week S/S 2012: Vivienne Tam

Judging from Vivienne Tam’s show, the 70s are making a comeback this spring, but not in a Studio 54 type of way. Tons of abstract prints and sheer flowing fabrics are going to make for one fun spring and summer season. Pinks, oranges and blues mixed with blacks, whites and tie dyes for a very tranquil feel. There were many 70s tailoring touches which also reinforced the mood – from side slit pockets and bell bottoms.

Vivienne Tam left nothing to the imagination, meaning most of her pieces were sheer so everyone got two shows instead of just one. Although exposing, the clothes were delicate because of the material and colors chosen (cream, red, black and teal). The pieces looked light as air and even make the model seem like they were floating adding more drama to the show.
