Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: Norman Ambrose F/W 2011

Also, a first-timer at Fashion Week, Norman Ambrose’s collection was a throwback to the style and sophistication of the 30s and 40s. Even the designer himself looked like he came straight out of a Mad Men episode.

Luxurious mink fur cuffs on a satin coat, plaid angora caped jackets, and silk charmeuse cowel neck blouses made for plush and feminine day-wear.

On the other hand, the evening wear was nothing short of sexy with gowns embroidered in tulle with ostrich feathers, dyed blue fox jackets over burgundy sequined cocktail dresses, and gold appliquéd evening gowns.

With this kind of wearable couture design skill, I’m surprised Norman hasn’t shown at Fashion Week before! It was an utterly breathtaking collection!
