Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: Duckie Brown F/W 2011

Duckie Brown pulled out some of the best jackets shown this season for fall/winter 2011 – along with every other possible piece from stunning suits to funky sweaters. Steven Cox and Daniel Silver delivered an eclectic menswear collection different than any other shown this season, which makes them stand above the rest.

Pieces like this fur coat – yes, a mens fur coat, which we completely approve of – graced the runway, and captured the attention of everyone attending the show. PETA would be up in arms, which makes us love it that much more. Also, please note the fabulous plaid pants – a must have for the FW2011 season.

The collection moved into a presentation of possible professional wear as well, something that every man needs. The sleek grey suit harkens a D&G vibe, and we can only imagine the amount of work and tailoring that went into the creation of such a beautiful structured look. (as a styling note, it was genius to place a color matched t-shirt under the blazer – something more men should be doing).

We were not let down on our hopes of more eclectic looks, like when this ensemble took to the runway. The AMAZING, and we stress AMAZING, blazer, the interesting button down t-shirt, the pants – what is not to love?! This look stole the show, and possible stole the entire week in terms of menswear.

The NYLA Report gives a big standing-O to the menswear line that dares to be different in an otherwise flat and boring world. Designers, take note of what Cox and Silver are doing and step your game up please. Oh, and remember, there are many men out there that like to look good too!
