Carolina Herrera chose classic and clean, sophisticated designs with touches of sparkle and sequins. A color palette of gray, brown, white and black were enhanced by bright splashes of red, burgundy, aqua, and purple. Trends included heels without platforms, fur trimmed outerwear, funky sleeves, and dramatic evening gowns. At first glance, the muted colours and severe shapes seemed a little on the dull side, but the exquisite tailoring and old-style glamour of the collection won us over very quickly: just add a slash of bright red lipstick to these pieces and you’re good to go.
