When I glanced through red carpet photos this afternoon, and I have to say–I was quite unimpressed by most of what I saw. It was waaay too much black, not enough color. Most of the looks were poorly put together or just looked cheap. Without further ado, check out my hot and not-so-hot picks:
Keri Hilson is one of my red carpet faves and she hasn’t failed me yet. *let’s knock on wood* She rocked an animal print long sleeved mini dress with an open back and a pair of Louboutins. Her skin and new blonde hair complimented the dress quite well and I’m a sucka for animal print.
LaLa Vazquez opted for a black long sleeved sequin dress with black platform pumps. I’m usually not crazy about sequins, but it worked in this case. I especially loved the sheer details at the sleeves and waist.
Ciara was spotted wearing a black and gold Michael Jackson-esque dress by Balmain, but I wasn’t head-over-heals about the shoe selection. However, I loved the intricate design of the dress, especially the gold embellishments. The dress length worked because CiCi has amazing, long legs.
Eva Marcille graced the carpet in a BCBG Max Azria dress, but her shoes were the true red carpet winner of the evening. Can I say–shoegasm?! These sparkly and crystal adorned Gasoline Glamour platform pumps were the perfect pop for such a basic dress.
Smh…where do I begin? First of all, Nicki Minaj looked like a Halloween costume gone terribly wrong, plus I feel like Lady Gaga wore this dress at the Grammy’s earlier this year. It was like Lady Gaga meets Bride of Chucky. Yeah, uber creepy…
Cassie rocked a mix of Givenchy and Charlotte Ronson. I didn’t completely hate the look, but it looked very awkward. Between those chunky wedges or that fuzzy purse–it was fugly.
I thought Ashanti looked gorgeous, but I disliked this dress for a number of reason. First of all, she looked a tad overdressed. It’s the BET Awards, not the Oscars. Secondly, I absoutely hate when women wear red dresses on the red carpet. Gaaah! And to top things off–it looked like a prom dress. Yup, I said it.
Oh Em Gee. What a fashion disaster? Brittany Daniel wore a black, ultra-tight skimpy dress. Ok, we know you’re in great shape, but it seemed like a hopeless cry for attention.

Asia you were so right about Eva Marcille’s shos. OMG!! I wut i’d look cute:)ant them I couldn’t walk in them but I’d look cute standing in one place LOL!
